All the good reasons to travel to France right now

There’s a reason why Audrey Hepburn said: “Paris is always a good idea.”

It’s just something about the City of Lights that has a way of illuminating you, making you feel creative or inspired or excited. Even for all of its less favorable city symptoms (trash, rats, pickpockets, as in most big cities), there’s an appeal to Paris that will call you long after you’ve sipped your last sip of wine by the Seine.

And it’s not just Paris that has pull, France has a romance that spreads countrywide, across its quaint little villages and seaside escapes and fields filled with lavender as far as your eye can see. It’ll give you that joie de vivre, that people are always searching for but can never quite put their finger on what it means.

But whether they can define it or not, there’s a whole lot of joie de vivre floating around France right now—in one weekend, the country celebrated Bastille Day and took home the World Cup 2018 title! I’d say they’re on a high right now that’s likely to last at least a little while.

So, in honor of France’s big 4-goooooooooaaaaaaaaalllll win, here’s a look at a few of my favorite things to sip, savor and see in the land of fresh-baked croissants.

A quick guide to things to love about France

Speaking of food, France is known for it. And more than just taste, France is known for the care it takes in crafting a meal that’s almost as beautiful as it is good. That’s why two cities in the country made my most Instagram-worthy food spots around the world list.

If you’re looking for more than just food to add to the ‘Gram, here’s my list of 7 top Instagram spots in Paris. It’s one of the prettiest travel photo scavenger hunts you’ll do.

One place that’s not among those seven top spots because its in Provence instead of Paris, ranks as one of the 10 most colorful places in the world to travel, thanks to those aforementioned endless fields of exquisite lavender.

Convinced to book a trip yet? If so, roundtrip flights from New York to Paris starting in August, are as low as $530 on WOW Air.

I’ll leave you with one last takeaway: My complete guide to things to do in Paris, from where to sip wine, to which museum to catch and where to really dine like (and with) the locals. S’amuser! (Have fun)
